HUMAIN and Applied Intuition have announced a strategic collaboration to build a unified autonomous logistics network at national scale in Saudi Arabia. The initial focus is autonomous trucking, with the companies aiming to roll out thousands of autonomous trucks across key Saudi logistics corridors by 2030. In their framing, this first phase is designed to lay the foundation for what they call the largest autonomous trucking network in the world. The initiative is positioned as the first major step under HUMAIN’s physical AI strategy, intended to extend AI beyond data centers and into real-world systems.
The partnership combines HUMAIN’s sovereign AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia with Applied Intuition’s end-to-end physical AI stack through a long-term commercial partnership. Applied Intuition will provide its platform described as built to scale across a billion moving machines. For the trucking rollout, the technology foundation will be Applied Intuition’s Self-Driving System (SDS), Vehicle OS, and supporting vehicle-intelligence offerings. Applied Intuition says SDS is already operating on Level 4 trucks, and notes it has run Level 4 trucking with Isuzu Motors in the U.S., Europe, and Japan.
Why Saudi Arabia Is Starting With Driverless Freight
In the companies’ messaging, autonomous trucking is a practical starting point for building the next generation of critical infrastructure because it is a large-scale application where AI can affect productivity, logistics, and economic growth. HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin said the intent is to make the region the first to deploy autonomous trucking at scale, highlighting that thousands of autonomous trucks operating around the clock could transform the speed, cost, and capacity of the logistics network. Bloomberg also reported the partnership’s goal to deploy self-driving trucks by 2030 as HUMAIN looks for practical uses aligned with national priorities.
The operating environment is a major part of the narrative around HUMAIN autonomous trucking corridors. Applied Intuition describes Saudi trucking conditions as demanding, citing extreme heat, blowing sand, and long-haul routes that can push vehicles to their limits. The company also points to mining as another challenging environment where it has worked: through a partnership with Komatsu, Applied Intuition’s Vehicle OS, autonomous haulage, and collision avoidance systems are being used in mining conditions defined by heat, dust, uneven terrain, and remote sites. Applied Intuition also notes it has established an office in Riyadh.
The collaboration is also framed against a broader autonomous-truck industry backdrop. A Straits Research report projects the autonomous truck market to grow from $48.09 billion in 2026 to $111.79 billion by 2034, at a CAGR of 11.12% for 2026–2034. The same source says heavy-duty trucks accounted for 67.21% share in 2025, and North America held 38.74% share in 2025.
